What we can tell you now
Facts about how the platform works today.
- All traffic between your browser and Vinylogix is encrypted over HTTPS.
- Card details never touch Vinylogix. Card payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal.
- The database holding account and shop data runs on Google Cloud (Firebase) in the europe-west4 region, in the Netherlands.
- With your consent, the site uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how Vinylogix is used.
- A shop can check a client’s EU VAT number with the EU’s VIES service.
- Record data comes from Discogs. Vinylogix sends Discogs the barcodes, Discogs IDs and search terms you look up, and your public Discogs username if you connect it. Vinylogix never sends Discogs your prices, orders, clients or sales.
- On plans with AI, Vinylogix uses Google Gemini through Google AI: it receives the artist, title and year of a record to write texts about it, and the photo of a sleeve you take for cover recognition.
- Shops can export their stock, orders and clients as CSV at any time. For any other data, including collector accounts, email contact@vinylogix.com.
- Roles decide which team members can see and change client and order data.
These points describe the platform as it is today. They are not a legal guarantee or a data processing agreement. Once published, the full privacy policy will be the binding document.
