Record data from Discogs in one scan
Scan a barcode, enter a Discogs ID or search by artist and title, and Vinylogix fills in the release from Discogs. You set the price, grading and stock. Vinylogix reads from Discogs and never writes to it.
What comes over from Discogs and what stays there
This is the data flow in Vinylogix today, item by item.
What comes over from Discogs
- Release data when you scan a barcode, enter a Discogs ID or search by artist and title: artist, title, label, year, country, format, genres and styles, tracklist and cover
- How many Discogs users have and want the release, and its rating
- The lowest current Discogs price and how many copies are for sale, as a guide when you add a record
- CSV imports: every row with a barcode or Discogs ID is filled in the same way
What stays on Discogs
- Vinylogix writes nothing to Discogs: no listing, delisting, price or stock changes
- Discogs orders, sales history, buyer messages and feedback
- Your Discogs prices. You set your Vinylogix prices yourself
- Stock levels: selling a record on one doesn’t change the other
- Your Discogs login: lookups work without signing in to Discogs
Vinylogix and Discogs stay separate. Your Discogs shop keeps running on its own.
How a lookup works
No Discogs account needed and nothing to set up. Lookups work from your first day, on every plan.
- Scan the barcode with your phone camera or a USB scanner, type the number, enter a Discogs release ID or search by artist and title.
- One match opens the record form straight away. When several pressings share a barcode, Vinylogix lists them and you choose. Already in your stock? Vinylogix opens that record instead.
- Artist, title, label, year, format, genres, tracklist and cover are filled in. You set the price, grading and stock, with the lowest Discogs price shown as a guide.
Questions sellers ask first
No. Lookups by barcode, Discogs ID or artist and title work straight away, with nothing to log in to or connect.
No. Vinylogix only reads from Discogs. It doesn’t list records there, change your prices or adjust stock on either side when something sells. If you sell the same copy in both places, you keep track of that yourself.
Yes. Vinylogix runs your stock, your orders and your own storefront. Your Discogs shop keeps running separately, and you decide what to sell where.
Only the barcode, release ID or search terms you look up. Never your prices, orders, clients or sales.
Yes, with CSV import. Every row with a barcode or Discogs ID is filled in from Discogs, so you only add grading, price and location where they are missing.
Vinylogix lists every match and you pick the right pressing. No match at all? Search by artist and title, or enter the Discogs release ID.
No. Vinylogix never touches your Discogs listings, buyers or orders, and never contacts Discogs buyers.
